Social media frenzy as town shows support for Newmarket Festival

The launch of the Newmarket Friends and Patrons scheme has sparked a Facebook frenzy with  the Festival page receiving a record number of "likes" and sending over 400 new visitors to the Festival website in less than 24 hours.

The scheme, launched this month offers Friends of the Festival a chance to benefit from special offers and discounts from local businesses.  With offers such as 2 for 1 race tickets, discounts on designer sunglasses and even 20% off estate agency fees, it's not surprising that everyone is eager to get their hands on a Friends card.  Newmarket Festival PR manager, Jo Morgan said, "It's exciting that the initiative has gained so much support so quickly.  Local businesses have been amazing and there are new offers being added every day."

As well as a list of discounts and offers available the website carries full details of Festival events including the Hilly Cycle Sportive on 22 June and the Brazilian themed Festival ball on 4th July.
